Our primarily low-risk development acreage in the Haynesville Shale trend is centered in Angelina and Nacogdoches counties, Texas and DeSoto and Caddo parishes, Louisiana. As of September 30, 2016, we hold approximately 52,000 gross (24,000 net) acres producing from or prospective for the Haynesville Shale. Since late 2008, we have participated in the completion of approximately 90 gross (33 net) wells targeting the Haynesville Shale.
Our core Haynesville Shale acreage is primarily concentrated in the Bethany-Longstreet and Greenwood-Waskom fields in Caddo and DeSoto Parishes, Louisiana. Our core Haynesville Shale drilling activity includes both operated and non-operated drilling in and around our core acreage positions in Northwest Louisiana. As of September 30, 2016 we had 38,000 gross (15,700 net) acres in the core of the play that is held by production.
In the Shelby Trough / Angelina River Trend part of the Haynesville Shale play, we operate all of our acreage, which is primarily located in Nacogdoches and Angelina counties, Texas. As of September 30, 2016 we held approximately 14,000 gross (8,300 net) acres within this part of the Haynesville Shale play.
